What you provide

To use Residency Alert, we expect to need your phone number, a unique forwarding address, and basic alert preferences. We do not need your Gmail, Outlook, or other email password.

How email is handled

When an email is forwarded to your unique Residency Alert address, our service retrieves the message, checks whether it appears to be a residency interview invitation or scheduling message, and sends an alert when appropriate.

The product is designed not to maintain a permanent copy of your inbox. We also do not need to process email attachments for the first version.

Important retention detail

Residency Alert uses third-party infrastructure to receive and process email. That provider may temporarily retain incoming email data and logs under its own retention policies. For that reason, we do not claim that an incoming message disappears immediately after processing.

Our application itself is designed to avoid creating an unnecessary permanent archive of your email content.

Alerts

Alerts are intentionally generic. A typical message will tell you that a possible residency interview invitation was detected and prompt you to check your email. We do not need to put program names, dates, or email contents into the SMS.

What we don't do

• We don't ask for or store your email password.
• We don't need access to your entire inbox.
• We don't use email contents to train an AI model in the MVP.
• We don't need to process attachments for the MVP.
• We don't put the contents of your residency emails into SMS alerts.

Your control

You can stop forwarding messages at any time by removing the forwarding rule from your email account. You can also stop using Residency Alert or request deletion of the account information we control.
