Why I built this

Because when the email comes, you want to know about it.

I helped monitor the dedicated residency inbox for my wife, and I saw firsthand how stressful it could be. An interview email might mean a handful of open spots, one spot that actually works with the rest of the schedule, or simply a chance you don't want to miss.

You're already doing everything you can to stay on top of interview season. Residency Alert isn't meant to replace that. It's one more signal when a potential interview email hits.

The goal is simple: give you a better chance of seeing the email while it still matters.

How it works

Use every notification system you want. Add one more.

01

Enter your email and phone number at checkout. It's a one-time payment for the 2026–27 interview season.

02

Forward your residency emails

We'll give you a unique email address. Set up your email provider to automatically forward your residency-related emails there. You never give us your email password.

03

Get the alert

When an email looks like a potential interview invitation or scheduling message, we'll text you. Then you can open the email and act.

Residency Alert doesn't replace your existing notifications, apps, or inbox. It's an extra layer of coverage.

The goal

Better to get an extra alert than miss the email that matters.

The first version intentionally favors catching potential interview emails over being perfectly selective. You can decide whether an alert is worth acting on. The important thing is that you saw it.

Privacy

Built to be simple and limited.

No email password.
You create a forwarding rule. Residency Alert never needs your Gmail or Outlook password.

No second inbox.
Email is processed to identify potential interview invitations rather than becoming another inbox for you to manage.

Generic alerts.
Texts don't include program names, dates, or email contents.

No attachments.
The first version does not need to process or store email attachments.

Email processing is handled by our infrastructure provider, so we don't claim that incoming messages disappear instantly. See the privacy details for the actual data flow and retention information.
